The Comorbidities
Explore pain, fatigue, dysautonomia, mast cell activation disorder, gastrointestinal problems and craniocervical instability, considering how these conditions can overlap, influence one another and shape the wider presentation.
manual therapy
Understand what hands-on work means for this population, including how the sensory and nervous systems may respond to touch, pressure and massage, and how those responses can inform your approach.
full body exercises
Familiar movements viewed through the realities of symptomatic hypermobility, including reduced passive stability, position sense, joint positioning, systemic symptoms and medication, and where these factors change your exercise decisions.
Your Presenter
Bonnie Southgate MSc has worked clinically with people who have symptomatic hypermobility for over twenty years, and speaks on the subject internationally. Her postgraduate research examined muscle function in hypermobility, she has run support groups for the hypermobile community, and she is MSK Advisor to SEDSConnective.
